- Use of offensive bots (including, but not limited to; DoS bots, warbots, floodbots, spambots, clonebots) is strictly prohibited. In short: any bot which is abusive to other users of the network in any way.
- Unsolicited advertising to NekoNet users is forbidden.
- 'User harvesting' by usage of empty channels where a bot redirects users to a main channel is prohibited.
- The use of multiple connections from a single system is limited to 5 connections.
- Each servers administrative team reserves the right to deny access for any user(s), domain(s) or IP (ranges) to their server without prior notice when they see a need for such action.
- When connecting to a NekoNet server you agree to comply with any additional guidelines set by its administrator in the MOTD. (this is displayed when you first connect, you can use the /motd command to display it again).
Disclaimer
The NekoNet administration does not log nor store any of the data which optionally passes through their servers. NekoNet IRC reserves the right to actively screen any computer and/or its user(s) which is/are connecting/connected to the network for the presence of improperly configured proxies (open proxies), spam scripts, (onjoin-) virusses and other offensive software. Despite our ongoing efforts to minimize the risk of damage to client computers through the means of (but not limited to) abuse, spam or virusses we cannot be held responsible for any damage or abuse resulting from a connection to the NekoNet IRC network.
The NekoNet administrators preserve the right to deny any user(s), domain(s) or IP (ranges) access to any of the NekoNet IRC network or any related resources. Please keep in mind that the use of our network is a privilege, not a right.
By using any of the NekoNet IRC servers you agree to comply to these rules and guidelines and release NekoNet and its administrators from every responsibility or legal liability which results from your stay on our network.
Actions taken against violators
Willingly and knowingly violating the rules stated on this page or on the MOTD of an individual NekoNet IRC server will result in disciplinary action, most likely but not necessarily to be preceded by a warning, resulting in (but not limited to) the denial of access from an individual IRC server or the entire network, when relevant possibly followed by legal action. Access to a single server can always be denied by its administrator.
The NekoNet IRC network is an unmoderated forum. However, our administration will cooperate with any offcial law enforcement body when required to do so.
Appealing against the accusation of violating the policy
Although our administrators will take great care not to wrongly accuse a possible offender we realize like no other that mistakes are bound to happen from time to time. Therefor you are always entitled to appeal against actions taken by one of the NekoNet administrators. Please note however that none of the NekoNet server administrators are under any obligation to take further action if you have been denied access.
- If you are banned from a single server you can contact the server administrator (use the /admin command to see the administrative details) and request that the ban be removed, also explaining what happened and how any future violations can be avoided. Next to that you can also join #cservice and request further information there.
- If you are banned from the entire network you can either contact the administration through the use of our 'complaints' forum or write an e-mail to abuse@neko-net.org and request that the ban be removed, also explaining what happened and how any future violations can be avoided.
If you need any further help...
If there is anything still unclear to you please let us know. We prefer that you come to the #cservice channel first but you can also contact us by e-mail should you so desire.
