Welcome to the new NekoNet website!

NekoNet IRC

NekoNet is an IRC network which has spawned from UnderNet. Due to the many problems which the UnderNet is facing (netsplits and seemingly idle opers being the biggest annoyance) a group of people who were already experimenting with IRC servers decided that enough is enough right after the UnderNet dismissed a large group of rather active opers for reasons which can only be speculated.

They decided to band together and form a network in which the user comes first. Our interest is the users experience. We really like spending time on the network to try to make things better, and we hope that our efforts will be enjoyed by our users.

Our main goal is to provide a network where both users and opers can enjoy themselves, where mistakes will be made by both opers and users alike but most of all where everyone can have fun and enjoy their stay.

NekoNet now

We've come a long way since we started and although we're a small network we're also persistent. We've had our ups and downs, and right now trying to work ourselves upwards again.

A new feature is this website, we used to run a wiki but since hardly anyone actually used it I figured a static website will do just as well.

We hope to see you online soon!

More bad news unfortunately; the NIC of our Amersfoort* server is acting up, causing the server to drop its connection and random times. Therefor its been taken down for repairs.

Today our American hub (pdx) went down again for reasons still unknown to us. We apologize for the inconvenience; we're still looking into it.

Although we're still busy getting the network cleaned up a bit all the major links should work like before (*.neko-net.org; where * can be irc, us, eu or asia).

We're giving the network a makeover. While things 'worked' we need to add some more structure and bring back stability.
